About

maxLike many others, C. S. Lewis has mentored and influenced me in numerous ways. This website is a small way of saying thank you to him, and to the many others who have faithfully explained his writings. It is meant to be a database by which you can access existing Lewis resources, and a venue in which I can share my own meager contributions. I will be updating the website periodically as more resources become available.

I am a Christian, husband, father of one, and Ph.D. student in Philosophy at the University of Oklahoma. My interest in Lewis extends back about 6 years when God used his writings (among a few others’) to develop a passion in my heart for truth. Regrettably, it was often untempered by charity. But Lewis has a remarkable ability to instruct the whole person: mind, soul, and will. His writings have a way of feeding the hungry faculties while (sometimes painfully) diagnosing the errant ones. Thanks to the perpetuity of literature, Lewis continues to teach, I continue to learn, and by God’s Grace, Virtue will continue to grow strongly grounded in the foundation of Truth.

Whence cometh the website title? It comes from one of Lewis’s poems titled “Sweet Desire”. The first five lines run thus:

These faint wavering far-travell’d gleams

Coming from your country, fill me with care. That scent,

That sweet stabbing, as at the song of thrush,

That leap of the heart–too like they seem

To another air; unlike as well
